Enabling works update: demolition of former Creamline Dairies building

Earlier this year, Manchester City Council commenced essential Enabling Works to begin the process of preparing the Red Bank neighbourhood for development and bringing brownfield land back into use.

Over the past few months, Bam Nuttall (the contractor appointed to undertake these works) have been carrying out some site clearance and investigation work in the area. More information about these enabling works can be found in this post.

The next phase of work is the demolition of the former Creamline Dairies building. This work is scheduled to get underway on the week commencing 6th June 2022 and is expected to take approximately 6 weeks to complete.

Once the demolition is complete, Bam Nuttall will begin construction of the temporary haul road through the area. This road will be used for construction vehicles to access the railway sidings area during the main phase of work.

The team will aim to keep disruption for nearby residents and businesses to an absolute minimum whilst the work is taking place. In line with planning permission, working hours on the site will be 07:30 – 18:00 Monday – Friday, and weekend working will be for essential works only.

We will also have measures in place to limit debris in the surrounding areas. Due to the nature of the work, some noise will be unavoidable, however, the team have taken careful consideration in selecting demolition and construction methods which will have the least impact on the surrounding area.

Should you have any queries with regards to this phase of construction work, you can contact Bam Nuttall directly by emailing VictoriaNorthProject@bamnuttall.co.uk
