OUR CONSULTATION TIMELINE

As we shape this new area of the city, it’s important for us to hear the views of as many local residents, businesses and other stakeholders as possible to ensure that development addresses the needs of those who will benefit from development in Red Bank.

There are a number of stages in our consultation process, allowing you to comment on our plans as they develop.

  • Autumn 2021

Introducing the vision for the Red Bank neighbourhood and the consultation process ahead, our first phase of consultation opens in October. The consultation is focused on gathering initial feedback to guide the design of St Catherine’s Wood at the heart of the new neighbourhood. In November, an enabling works planning application is submitted to secure safe access to the site and ensure future infrastructure works can be delivered as early as possible.

  • Winter 2021/22

Public consultation on the overarching plan for the Red Bank neighbourhood, with an introduction to ideas around the location and density of new homes, community facilities and public spaces. Seeking views on the more detailed design proposals for St Catherine’s Wood following initial feedback.

  • Spring/Summer 2022

A planning application for infrastructure works, including the plans for St Catherine’s Wood, is submitted in March and approved by Manchester City Council in the summer. Meanwhile, the initial phase of early enabling works begins in May, with site clearance and investigation works, as well as the demolition of Creamline Dairies.

  • Autumn/Winter 2022

Our third stage of consultation opens, providing an update on plans for the Red Bank neighbourhood and introducing FEC’s early proposals for the first stage of detailed development: plots NT02-04 on Dantzic Street.

  • Early 2023

Final stage of consultation on the more progressed plans for the Red Bank neighbourhood to open early next year, including the detailed design proposals for the first new homes on plots NT02-04.

  • Spring 2023

Submission of planning applications for the wider Red Bank masterplan and the NT02-04 plots.
